Since its beginnings in 1985, the aim of Zubialde S.A. has been the custom made manufacture and sale of high performance pulp, or paper pulp.

Located in Aizarnazabal, in the heart of Gipuzkoa, spread over an area of 98,000 m² along the Urola River, whose waters are used in the manufacturing process.

We have a production capacity of 10,000 metric tonnes annually and a team of 55 people, who work 5 shifts, Non-Stop, 360 days a year.

ZUBIALDE S.A. has been dedicated exclusively to the manufacture and marketing of high performance paper pulp since the year 1985, with an annual production capacity of 10,000 t/year. The company has 98,000 m2 and is located in Aizarnazabal (Gipuzkoa) by the Urola River, where we have all the water we need for the whole production process. The workforce consists of 55 people, 45 of whom work in production in a Non-Stop system of 5 shifts over 360 days of the year. The rest of the workforce works in maintenance, services, administration and management.

THE BEST RAW MATERIAL
TO PRODUCE THE PERFECT PAPER PULP

We use resinous wood in our production, mainly Pinus radiata. This conifer, also known as Pino Insignis, Monterey Radiata Pine, was introduced into our community in the nineteenth century, and currently accounts for 43% of the forest mass of all species in the Basque Autonomous Region. ZUBIALDE is located in the centre of this forested area within a 100km radius. To a lesser extent we use maritime pine (pinus pinaster) from the Landes Forest in Gascony, the largest mass of resinous trees in Western Europe (around 1,000,000 ha). The timber we receive comes from thinnings or cuttings made to clean up and strengthen the forests and tips of pine trees felled for the sawmills.

The start

Incorporated on 21 November 1985, our main aim was the manufacture and sale of mechanical pulp to the main industries.

Year 1999

Progress

Increase in the production capacity of 10,000 metric tonnes per year. Located in Aizarnazabal (Gipuzkoa), we extended ourselves over an area of 87,000m2 along the Urola River, whose waters are used in the process.

Year 2010

Success!

Increase in the production capacity in an area of 98,000 m2 along the Urola River, with a staff of 55 people, of which 45 work in production in a Non-Stop system of 5 shifts over 360 days of the year.
